Terms of use

About these terms

These terms apply when you use CarDoc.ca (“CarDoc”, “we”), developed by DigitalFix. By using the site you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

Information only, not a quote or advice

CarDoc’s prices, ranges, verdicts and guides are estimates for general information. They come from published price guides, shop labour rates and prices shared by drivers, and they can be incomplete, out of date or wrong for your vehicle.

  • They are not a quote, an offer or a guarantee of any price.
  • A shop’s price can differ for valid reasons, such as your vehicle’s condition, parts choice or extra work needed.
  • CarDoc is not a mechanic and doesn’t inspect vehicles. Always get a written quote and follow the advice of a qualified mechanic.
  • CarDoc doesn’t recommend, rank or endorse any shop, and decisions about your vehicle are yours.

Sharing a price

When you share a price, you confirm that it comes from a genuine quote or bill, that it is accurate, that you have the right to share it, and that it contains no one else’s personal information. We may review, correct, hold back or remove any shared price. You give CarDoc a free, permanent, worldwide permission to use what you share as part of its combined price information.

Links and listings from other sites

CarDoc links to other websites, and the estimator can show current listings from eBay.ca. Listings come from eBay and its sellers: prices and availability can change, CarDoc doesn’t check that a part fits your vehicle, and any purchase is between you and the seller under eBay’s terms. CarDoc is not part of those transactions and is not responsible for other websites or their content. eBay is a trademark of eBay Inc.; CarDoc is not affiliated with or endorsed by eBay.

Using the site fairly

Please don’t copy the site’s data with automated tools, overload or interfere with the site or its security, submit false or misleading prices, or use CarDoc to break the law. We may block access to anyone who does.

Our content

CarDoc’s text, design and compiled price information belong to CarDoc or its licensors. Vehicle and recall data are used under their sources’ licences, listed on our About Our Data page.

No warranty

CarDoc is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that the site or its information is accurate, complete, available or suitable for any purpose.

Limits on our responsibility

To the extent the law allows, CarDoc and DigitalFix are not responsible for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for decisions, repairs or purchases made based on the site. Because CarDoc is free, our total responsibility for any claim is limited to CAD $100. Nothing in these terms limits rights that the law, including consumer protection law, does not allow us to limit.

Changes

We may change the site and these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and using the site after a change means you accept it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and disputes go to the courts of Ontario, unless the law of your province says otherwise.
